Power Electronic Control, Reliability and System Optimization

The group of Power Electronic Control, Reliability and System Optimization (PESYS) is pioneering in design, optimization and control of power electronics across a broad area of systems including electric vehicles, data centers, Power-to-X (PtX) units, microgirds and large-scale multi-energy systems, among many others. Having world-class lab facilities and an international team of experts, PESYS conducts leading-edge research in developing, operation and testing of innovative power electronic systems for all relevant applications which are efficient, reliable and cost-competitive. PESYS also provides high-efficiency environmental friendly solutions within production, distribution and optimal use of power-electronics based energy sources and explores ways to achieve significant system-level advances through a systems engineering approach.

How the research group - Power Electronic Control, Reliability and System Optimization is linked to AAU Energy missions

The Power Electronic Control, Reliability and System Optimization (PESYS) research group contributes to the mission on Renewable Energy by enabling the optimal energy extraction of the renewable sources and their reliable integration to the electrical grid through proper power electronic interfaces. PESYS also contributes to the mission on Energy Efficiency by leveraging new power electronic technologies and topologies and development of special control algorithms to further improve the energy efficiency, reliability and flexibility of the power electronic systems. Last but not least, PESYS supports the Digital transformation and AI mission through conducting leading-edge research on cognitive power electronic systems and providing innovative power electronic solutions with smart digital functionalities and data processing capabilities for increased flexibility, adaptability and reliability.
