Introduction to Membranes

Membranes play a critical role in advancing sustainable energy processes. Our research focuses on the development of advanced membrane processes for a wide range of energy-related applications, including water treatment for Power-to-X (PtX), gas separation (e.g., CO₂ and NH₃ capture), and battery recycling. We are also pushing the boundaries of conventional membrane applications by developing novel membrane processes for space heating, cooling, low-grade heat harvesting and other thermal management systems. To foster innovation and advance new knowledge, we employ mathematical modeling tools to understand, optimize, and scale up membrane technologies.
