EFFORT - Electrification and flexibility services from Greenport North

Collection and processing of data

In EFFORT, a data hub is created, which is built on the basis of general principles around:

  • Data collection,
  • data storage,
  • data sharing,
  • data security,
  • scalability,
  • and analysis.

The data hub creates value through its function as a centrally located unit that can acquire, store and process energy-related data across the energy sector. Data can be collected both from the energy supply sectors, internal company data sources such as sensors and control systems, as well as external sources such as energy prices and weather data. When data is collected from different sources in one data hub, the possibility of using it in new ways is created, and users can access the necessary data foundation via a central source.

A data hub can also enable operations staff to track energy use, identify inefficiencies and optimize energy use across facilities and/or sectors.

Locally at the company, the properties of a data hub can be used to gain greater insight into their energy consumption, identify new opportunities, make data-based decisions. Ultimately, these parameters can reduce the company's costs, as well as streamline their energy consumption and increase their use of renewable energy.

In a system perspective, the data hub can be used to identify and optimize operating patterns in energy transport in the real composition of energy consumption and production in the system
