Frede Blaabjerg researches how we can best control and convert electricity to make its use more efficient and sustainable. His work is a vital contribution to green technologies, including wind turbines, solar cells, and the energy systems of the future.

The University of Parma in Italy is awarding the title “Professore ad honorem” / Honorary Professor to Frede Blaabjerg in recognition of his groundbreaking research and technological innovation in power electronics.

The title was officially conferred during a ceremony on October 14th, 2025, in the Aula Magna at the University of Parma. Frede Blaabjerg delivered a lectio magistralis (inaugural lecture) entitled: Power Electronics – a key technology creating a sustainable and modern society.
