The laboratory underwent a major update and renovation in 2017. The available test equipment consists of commercial test stations combined with several in-house setups, a climatic chamber, cooling container, and several gas analyzers. The entire laboratory is equipped with ventilation systems, electricity connections and gas alarms that support using explosive gases. The laboratory is supplied with a range of gases from an external facility.

The laboratory can be used for the characterization of different hydrogen related devices, fuel cells, electrolyzers, and reformers from single cell to system level. It is equipped with electrochemical workstations from Gamry for electrochemical characterizations, such as impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.

The laboratory supports the research and educational programmes within the fuel cell and hydrogen production research area, but is open for other research programmes upon request.
