Student activities in Aalborg

All new international students are invited to attend various welcome activities when arriving in Aalborg. You will receive information about these activities from your Study Secretary prior to the commencement of your studies.

On the 5th semester in the Bachelor's study programme, all students have the opportunity to go on a longer study trip - usually 5 days. The trip will be a mix of educational and social activities such as visits to companies (e.g. Mercedes, Airbus) and free time to explore your destination.

The Department will typically cover bus travel, entry tickets and possibly part of the accommodation.

The destinations of the 5th semester study trips have previously been Berlin or other large cities in Germany.

It is possible to spend some of your study period at another university in either Denmark or another country. Read more about the process and your opportunities for exchanges with other universities.

The annual Conference for Energy Students (CES) in December gives the Master's students the opportunity to present their projects and research results in the form of academic articles, posters and videos. The conference is organised to resemble an international conference and the students can win prizes for best article, best presentation, best poster and best video.

AAU Energy has students from all over the world and we enjoy getting to know you all. At the Poster Party, which is held during the autumn semester, all the Master's, guest and exchange students are encouraged to present their countries of origin with entertaining and educational posters.

No summer without a bbq at AAU Energy. Take a break from your studies and mingle with other students and employees.

Not fond of meat? Don't worry, we will have plenty of bread, fruit and snacks.

Short study trips such as visits to relevant companies will be arranged during your studies. This can inspire new projects or help you to determine your future career.

There is also the possibility to arrange short study trips on your own and apply for financial support. Read more about the possibilities for excursions.

It is a tradition that all the students from AAU Energy's study programmes get together for a Christmas Party every year. Enjoy good food, good company and perhaps some of the traditional Danish Christmas Party games.
