After more than a decade of service, it is time for our hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) pilot plant, the CBS1, to move on. It has been a cornerstone of our contribution to the development of HTL, not just by producing large amounts of biocrude from a variety of feedstocks, but also by giving us invaluable knowledge about scale effects, continuous operation challenges and system design and optimization. It has contributed to projects such as NextGenRoadFuels, Low Carb Fuels and many others.

Thus, we are inviting bids for the entire plant. You can read a description in the attached documents or reach out to us for details.

This does not by any means indicate that we stop our activities within liquefaction; based on our learnings from the CBS1-plant, we have and are establishing small continuous plants in our lab which allow us to focus our research on some of the more fundamental aspects of continuous liquefaction processes in support of the drive towards seeing full scale HTL plants in operation around the world.
