Aalborg University recently honored two distinguished researchers, Amjad Anvari-Moghaddam and Mads Pagh Nielsen, as they were officially appointed professors. The event also featured a presentation by Director Cecilie Brøkner from Innovation Fund Denmark.

Aalborg University recently honored two distinguished researchers, Amjad Anvari-Moghaddam and Mads Pagh Nielsen, as they were officially appointed professors. The event also featured a presentation by Director Cecilie Brøkner from Innovation Fund Denmark.

Professor Amjad Anvari-Moghaddam’s research focuses on energy system integration, multi-carrier energy hubs, and market studies, including bidding strategies and clearing mechanisms. He has been ranked among the world’s top two percent of scientists by Stanford University since 2020 and is recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher in Clarivate Analytics’ Essential Science Indicators (ESI). He also serves as a board member of the Council for Energy Efficient Transition under the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Supply. In addition to his new role as a professor, he has been appointed Vice Head of Research at AAU Energy.

Professor Mads Pagh Nielsen’s areas of expertise include electro fuels, power-2-X and thermal energy, and in 2005, he co-founded the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Specialization at AAU. He is the recipient of both the 2023 UFM Teaching Prize and the 2022 QS Reimagine Education Regional Gold Medal, and serves as a board member of Hydrogen Valley. Alongside his professorship, he serves as Vice Head of the Department at AAU Energy, overseeing educational initiatives.
