Abstract:
Title: Research Activities, Academic Training and Knowledge Transfer from the LEMUR Team at The University of Oviedo.
Summary: LEMUR stands for "Laboratory for Electrical Energy Management Unified Research". The presentation firstly contextualizes and discusses the main research lines of the LEMUR group, established in 2012 at the electrical Engineering Department of the University of Oviedo, in Spain.
The group staff is comprised of more than 20 people including 7 professors and several Postdoc researchers and MSc and BSc students. The group skills include Power Systems and Electrical Networks Modeling and Analysis, Power Converters Based Technologies for Grid Integration and Storage Systems.
Besides these research lines, also the main research projects and technology transfer contracts with companies will be discussed. In addition, the examples of how some of the research lines have been transferred to spin-off companies, in which researchers and alumni from the group are participating, will be mentioned.
The research collaborations with companies, institutions, together with collaborations with other academic institutions worldwide, will also be linked up to academic activities of the members of the research group. These activities will focus mainly on the coordination and management of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree on Sustainable Transportation and Power Systems (STEPS) and the EECPS Master Degree.
