Circularity and Carbon Capture – The mission targets a new circular industrial ecosystem with the aim to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible and as an example use carbon capture direct from air and CO2 transportation and storage.

Digital transformation and AI for smart and resilient energy systems – The mission aims to enable autonomous, resilient, and reliable energy systems by using data and AI to improve energy efficiency and minimize life-cycle-cost.

Energy efficiency in components and systems - The main targets are harnessing the power of better technologies through removing barriers, lack of awareness on saving potentials and lack of adequate information on efficiency measures, which inhibits the deployment of energy efficiency solutions.

Renewables and Energy islands - which will be the biggest construction project in Danish history and one of the most revolutionizing energy ideas ever attempted with many unknowns and a large room for new ideas ranging from new technologies to new operation strategies, including planning, design, control algorithms and grid integration.

Electrification-and-energy-integration – The mission is to create stronger links of all kinds of energy systems across electricity, heating and cooling, gas, transportation, and water, exploiting the power of citizens to contribute to energy transition, increasing the flexibility of the overall energy system, and using renewable energy instead of fossil fuels. 

Sustainable Fuels, chemicals and PTX - The main vision of the mission is the production of green, renewable, and carbon footprint reduced fuels. This includes biofuels produced from biomasses and biogenic residues as well as liquid and gaseous fuels produced from electrolysis and PtX.
