Abstract:
“Advancing Denmark toward climate neutrality necessitates integrating renewable energy into power systems while adopting sustainable solutions. DC microgrid clusters offer a decentralized framework that enhances grid independence and reduces carbon emissions. However, the variable nature of distributed energy resources poses challenges in interconnection, management, and fault response. Addressing these challenges is essential for enabling DC microgrid clusters to accommodate diverse power profiles. Multiport DC/DC converter technology offers a promising solution, enabling efficient integration and operation of decentralized systems. This Ph.D. thesis explores advanced DC/DC converter configurations, control strategies, power-sharing methods, and fault analysis to enhance the sustainability and performance of DC microgrid clusters.”
