Vision and Goal of THE RESEARCH GROUP - Electro Fuels
The Electro-Fuels research programme focuses on production of fuels and chemicals based on electrolytic hydrogen. The activities cover the entire value chain from the sourcing and capture of feedstocks from biogenic or industrial processes over electrolytic hydrogen production or co-electrolysis to the final fuel synthesis. The energy storage and grid balancing capabilities of the systems are central aspects of the research.
HOW THE RESEARCH GROUP - Electro Fuels IS LINKED TO AAU ENERGY MISSIONS
The research group is linked to the mission of Sustainable Fuels since the technologies utilize renewable electricity and other feedstocks. Thus it also links to the Renewable Energy mission. It is also linked to the mission of Electrification and Integration as a key balancing technology that can be integrated with combined heat and power plants.
