PROJECT TITLE: Stability and Control of Multi-paralleled Single-phase Traction Converters

In modern high-speed railway traction system, many instability and resonance phenomena have threaten the safety and even induce serious faults. Most of existing railway traction converters are adopted with grid-following control, thus loss of synchronization and small-signal instability problems are easily induced under weak grid. To copy with these problems, the modeling, stability analysis and control of railway traction converters need to be investigated. In this PhD project, a new control scheme will be adopted in traction converters, and the modeling and stability analysis of current control loop will also be conducted. The mechanism and root cause of instability and resonance will be revealed, and the mitigation guidelines in terms of these phenomena will be developed.
