This week, Girls' Day in Science was held at our departments in Aalborg and Esbjerg, where more than a total of 100 high school girls showed up to become wiser within science and energy.
Workshop in Aalborg
In Aalborg, Anna Lyhne Jensen gave a workshop on wind energy and she received help from five of our talented female students, which gave the participating girls the opportunity to meet inspiring role models. During the workshop, the participating girls learned about how a wind turbine is designed to make the best possible use of the energy in the wind and they also had the opportunity to build and test their own small wind turbine themselves. The girls were also taken on a tour in our Flow Laboratory.
Workshop in Esbjerg
In Esbjerg, our scientific assistant Evelyne Kabemba Kaniki welcomed the girls, where they learned about how to make face cream with antioxidant substances from the wadden sea plant saltwort.
